Knowledge Graph

A network of facts and relationships used by some AI systems to connect information meaningfully.

Help me explain to...

K–5th
A knowledge graph is like a giant web of facts where things are connected, like how you know your dog is an animal and animals need food.

6–8th
It’s a map of knowledge! AI uses knowledge graphs to see how things are related, like connecting George Washington to the American Revolution.

9–12th
Knowledge graphs structure relationships between facts in a network, enabling AI to reason, connect ideas, and make inferences beyond just keywords.

Expeditions

K–5th
Create a big class web using yarn. Each student represents an object (dog, food, park) and connects to related items. Explain how AI builds webs like this.

6–8th
Have students build a visual concept map of related historical events or science terms. Explain how AI does this to "connect the dots."

9–12th
Use a real-world example (like Google’s Knowledge Panel). Ask students to map how the facts are connected in a small graph. Discuss how these help AI understand meaning.
